Dimensions:60 inches tall from bottom to top of center finial; by 14" wide at the hood. Maker/Mfgr./Author/Artist:Dutch clockmaker-unsigned. Condition:Excellent-runs and strikes properly. Circa:1875 Materials:Mahogany stained wood case; brass movement; painted iron dial. Description:Case in excellent condition. The image of Father Time on the lower pendulum bob window (see photographs) has a rooster on the top to remind us of the passage of time and our lives. The statues on the hood include Atlas standing in the center, holding the Universe on his shoulders and two Herald Angels on either side with their trumpets raised high. The weights and finials are exact but later replacements. The hand painted dial is 100 percent original and includes a charming Dutch village scene showing a quaint village, a church and a lake with a sailboat. The is an alarm mechanism in the movement, but has been disconnected. These clocks are wound by pulling the chain to raise the master weight...every 30 hours. In Holland is known as a STAARTKLOK.
