C.1835, Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn., 30-hour wood movement carved case shelf clock, needing attention. This is a well made clock with lots of potential. Someone has begun the process of stripping the case but didn't quite finish. The carved crest "ferns in a basket" is extra nice with only a small piece missing from the leaf on the right side. Both glasses are original. The dial is above average. It even has it's original dust covers. The movement is correct and looks very clean. There is a piece of veneer missing the top, left side return and just below the left chimney, and door lock and escutcheon are lacking. The label is full, but with tear and coming loose; can be reglued easily. Height 35 1/2"
