The movement is planted in the case horizontally, and the escape wheel is driven through a contrate wheel, and released by a conventional verge and pendulum. These clocks are pictured and described in Tardy's Part II, Louis XVI section. The marble and ormolu are in excellent condition; movement running, but would benefit from service. Plain pendulum is old and adequate, however anyone with an interest in this item will likely have a source for a better pendulum. Height 17"
