C.1880, Grange and Betout, Paris, French 8-day time/strike four pillar mantel clock. This clock has a rosewood and marquetry inlaid case (finely inlaid roses and buds). There is some damage along left side and the back corner of the top molding. There is a raised veneer area on the back of one column (at the seam). The porcelain dial is fine except for a very tiny hairline at the one o'clock position. The clock has a very elegant shell pendulum and matching shell bezel around the dial; note someone has accented the shell with black paint (will come off in solution or oven off, don't try to rub off) Height 20"
