48 inch walnut case, fluted and carved half columns. Some parts of the old carved top maybe contemporary, but the carvings are old. I would guess just glued and strengthened. They even veneered the top. It fits correctly and looks like it belongs to this case. A few old worm holes in the body of the case. 8 day movement assigned by the maker and has a serial number No.282723. It strikes grand sonnerie, on 2 coil gongs, in other words it strikes 1, 2, 3, or 4 times on each quarter-hour, and the number of hours on each quarter, and it is running. It has engraved brass pulleys, matching but plain weights, pendulum, and dial center. Porcelain dial ring and beat scale are excellent, standard GB Vienna hands,3 good glasses.
