Mahogany case with scrolled ears, turned pillars, and a beautifully painted tablet. Border is original, center professionally restored. There is a crack in the original glass, lower right corner. There is a great old complete label on the backboard. 30 hour Torrington movement retaining period weights, pendulum, door key, magnificent original wood dial. The clock is operational. Old putty around the glasses. Norris North movements are also found in clocks marketed by other people. The mahogany case is 29 inches high, has brass finials. The left return looks to be replaced, feet and ears original. Two small pieces of veneer off, the lower right side skirt, and upper right above the door. Note the strike advance wire top left by the dial, strikes on an iron bell. The weight chute dividers evidently replaced. Repairs made around the key escutcheon. One ear repaired. The last Norris North pillar and scroll that I heard was sold in the public arena, was in 1987. Surely there has been others, although they are very rare. Refer to the book, "Eli Terry and the Connecticut Shelf Clock", Second Edition Revised, by Kenneth D. Roberts and Snowden Taylor, page 153, 155-159.
