Waltham, or Harris & Harrington, long case clock, with a J.
J. Elliott, 8 day movement. Elliott made movements for Durfee, Herschede, Waltham, H&H,or any of a dozen clock makers. Elliott movements were considered the top of the line from the 1880's thru the 1920's. This case is shown in Tran Duy Ly's book "Longcase Clocks and Standing Regulators", as a Waltham No.1071,and a Harris & Harrington No.489. The broken arch case stands 8 feet 5 inches with the top finial in place, or 7 feet 10 inches without any of the finials. All 3 finials are perfect, I could not get a picture with all 3 on the case. The very nice dial is 13 inches, with rolling moon arch. The dial is signed "Elliott of London". Dark brown finished mahogany case, beveled glass in the door. Strikes half hours and hours on 1 gong. Running nicely.
