A fine George III 8 day mahogany long case clock, Edward Clarke, London, Circa 1775

The 12" break arch brass dial with silvered chapter ring and spandrels, matted centre, calendar aperture and subsidiary seconds. With silvered name plate signed Edward Clarke London, with painted rocking ship automaton in the arch. The five pillar movement with rack striking on a bell. The break arch mahogany case of good colour surmounted by brass ball and spire finials. With fluted pillars with brass fillets. Straight trunk with double shaped plinth. Height: 95" including finial
