Waterbury Clock Co. "Regulator No.16", ca 1893.

This clock is in near perfect condition. It has been with one family throughout its existence. The last family member to possess it was Circuit Judge Kelly, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, who had the clock in his chambers for the many years he was judge. The oak case has never been cleaned other than normal furniture cleaning. It is not often we get one this nice and original. 8 day time, weight, No.100 movement, brass weight, gridiron lyre pendulum with oval rods. The finely finished movement encased in an iron box, dead beat pin escapement, sweep second, retaining power, 12 inch porcelain dial. The 108 inch case has superb wood treatment including the moldings, angels, bevels, applied carvings, etchings, and 3 good glasses. It is difficult to adequately describe this clock. A plaque on the clock reads, "W. E. Kelly, 1895", who I understand was the grandfather of the last owner, Judge Kelly. The top was photographed separately, and is shown although the angle may be a little off. Our clock room ceiling is only 99 inches. It has been running perfectly and constantly since we have had it on display. Probably one of the most impressive clocks we have had for sale. Ly-Waterbury No.786, and Ly-Longcase Clocks & Standing Regulators No.1121.
