"Phoenix Manufactory, 192 Pearl St., New York, William S. Sperry, Manufacturer of Rose Wood and Mahogany Pillar Clocks", per the full backboard label in this 4 column clock. Wm. Sperry made clocks in the 1840's and used the names, Phoenix Manufactory, Bloomer & Sperry, as well as William S. Sperry. It is not know who first produced the 4 pillar clock, Jerome, Thomas, Hoadley, or some other CT maker. We have had several with Seth Thomas labels as well as Sperry. 26 inch case with 2 columns each side, squeezed the case inward leaving little room for weights, hence the 2 wafer weights. Clean 30 hour brass movement, wood dial, period weights, pendulum bob. Strikes a coil gong. Old mirror could be original. Mahogany veneer case has had some repairs.
