"Eight Day Clocks, Manufactured by Atkins & Downs, for G. Mitchell & R. Atkins, Bristol, Conn", ca 1831-1832. 8 day wood movement in a 38 inch mahogany veneer case. Veneer is good as is the carved splat. Double doors, veneer is figured on the full columns. Iron bell, period iron weights, pendulum, hands, good old wood dial. 2/3 of paper label, the important part is present. Glasses are replaced, ivory escutcheons, one with a small chip, old key and original locks. Reference- "Eli Terry and The Connecticut Shelf Clock", Kenneth D. Roberts and Snowden Taylor, page 227.
