"R. & I. Atkins, Bristol, Conn", ca 1835-1837. Brothers Rollin and Irenus Atkins were in business about a year before they became bankrupt. 30 hour wood movement is running, strikes an iron bell. Carved case includes a fine and unusual splat, half columns, carved feet-l toe broken. Glasses are very old replacements, full label, period weights, bob, hands, escutcheon with lock and key, and a magnificently clean old wood dial. 31 inch mahogany veneer case in almost perfect condition. The excellent glass should be rebacked, otherwise a very nice early carved case clock.
