Birge, Mallory and Co., Bristol, CT Modified triple decker is identical to the movement and case pictured in the book, "The Contributions of Joseph Ives to Connecticut Clock Technology 1810-1862", by Kenneth D. Roberts, Revised Second Edition. Has an excellent complete label, old pendulum bob, great glasses although replacements, key lock doors complete with hardware and key. 8 day, strap brass movement is signed "BM&Co". 38 inch mahogany veneer case has been cleaned and is near perfect, has a few old repairs, and runs. Carved headpiece, capitals, returns, and bun feet, all near perfect. The old wood dial with removable mirror, has minor hairlines or stretch marks. Overall one of the nicer clocks with the glasses being the only drawback.
