"Clark, Gilbert & Co., Winchester, Conn", ca 1841-1845. 30 hour brass movement is signed like the label, runs and strikes very well. Old weights of the hollow column type, may well be original to this clock. Period pendulum, hands, and old zinc dial. The top glass is original, bottom puttied in many years ago. It is the type Clarke Gilbert used in their hollow column clocks. 28 1/2 inch mahogany veneer case, door trim is beveled, bottom flat is stenciled. The columns are tapered from 2 1/2 inches at the top, to 3 inches at the bottom. Very good label. There are double pulleys on top of the case which seems to be typical of hollow column clocks. Small piece of molding missing on top right, side, can't see from the front.
