Wm. L. Gilbert & Co., Winchester, Conn, ca 1845-1848, and 1851-1866. This is the smaller version of Chauncey Jerome's patent case, this one without the paper patent strip inside the door. It correctly contains an Ansonia movement also. The upper glass is original, bottom a good gold and black match, of more recent vintage. Very nice old zinc dial, period rectangle weights, old gong and bell. 30 hour movement with strike and alarm. Alarm was missing, I put an old one in the case, you install. Good label, missing most of the paper in the weight chutes. 27 inch rosewood veneer case is very nice, only a couple of tic's on the top edges and a 4 inch piece missing on the base-side. Very good looking old clock.
