"Daniel Pratt & Sons, Reading, Mass". This beehive is as original as they come. Great glass, dial, pendulum, label, hands. Brass 8 day movement held by mounting blocks. Alarms on an iron bell, strikes on a coil gong. Movement is signed "J.C.Brown, Forrestville, Ct". There is a repair date on back of dial "1868". 19 inch mahogany veneer case is very nice except for the usual chip on the top-back, where the wood was cut each quarter inch to bend the wood together on top. 9 of 10 beehives have a plug out there. It has the J.C.Brown door knob. I suspect J.C. Brown made the clock and Pratt put his label on it. Pratt bought movements and cases from other makers.
