"H. Welton & Co., Terryville, Conn", ca 1839. Hiram Welton made and sold brass and wood movements to others and sold his own clocks. This 30 hour weight clock was one of his first brass movement clocks. Old wood dial, super frosted glass, both glasses are original. Period weights and pendulum. About 95% of the fragile label in the case. 26 inch mahogany veneer case almost perfect. For information on the company and movement read pages 334-339 in Kenneth D. Roberts and Snowden Taylor's book, "Eli Terry and the Connecticut Shelf Clock", Second Edition, Revised.
