The case is a classic Greek Portico style with 6 fluted columns w/ gilt capitals. Above the dial is a cupola with MOP inserts. A couple of the top moldings have been replaced and painted black. One rear foot is lacking (simple turning). The movement is a well made Viennese 3-train, with concentric calendar (1-31). The minute hand is missing and the hour hand is from an American clock and too long. The dial has some hairlines. Strikes the quarters and halves on two coiled wire gongs mounted on a brass standard. Silk thread pendulum retains original engine turned bob. Although you need to come up with hands, and clean the movement, this clock has a lot of potential. Original rear dust cover signed Ferd Hoser, in Wien Fecit. Height 22Ó $500-$700
