The gilt case has losses around the bottom edge of the rim and someone in the past has painted the case with gold paint. A careful person migHeight be able to get the paint off with toluene and soft cloth, as much of the gilding looks intact. The original dial is dirty but can be easily cleaned. The hands are original. The clock has an early iron backplate [Kirk's pat] movement with full iron cup to enclose the spring. The pieces that were cut from the top brass plate (that made it look fancy) were used as clock key handles. There is no label in this case; has been painted gray inside. This is a nice large size clock. Diameter 20Ó $600-$700
