C.1890, English, 2-Fusee Bracket clock with round silvered dial, fully engraved and signed "J. W. Benson", all in very good original condition. This is an attractive clock with unusual ebony veneer containing ligHeight streaks (almost looks like tortoise shell); on the case front are ivorene inlays (with minor age cracks), the whole supported on 4 brass ball feet. The robust and well made movement retains original chains and pendulum tie down; runs and strikes the hours on a coiled flat wire gong. There is a special little key for opening the front brass bezel and rear door, so take care not to misplace it. Overall a well made clock ready to enjoy. Height 14Ó $1,750-$2,250
