C.1835, Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn., 30-hour, miniature column and splat "timepiece" with alarm.

This interesting case has three quarter columns (with original stenciling) that extend above the top of the case to support the splat. The stenciling on the splat has been renewed. The original dial is very nice with beautiful painted corner spandrels, however the dial has been screwed to the uprights (can be corrected). The hands look OK, but are probably not original. The upper glass is original while the mirror, which is period, is a replacement. The case bears a good label that reads: "Improved time-piece made by Silas Hoadley, cased and sold by L. Smith". Label protected under plastic (bell removed for label foto). Height 23.50Ó $1,750-$2,250
