C.1930, Herschede, Pattern 314, 5-Tube Hall clock in excellent original condition.
This clock is a one owner from Redding, Mass. Has the Large 3-train movement, with dial "C" (silvered brass with engraving), and painted rolling moon. In addition to Herschede crown, dial bears the name of the retailer: "Nelson H. Brown, Boston USA". This clock chimes the tune on the quarter hours, and after the full tune on the hour follows with the hour count on a fifth deeper toned tubular bell. The mahogany case is "like new" and has received excellent care the last 70 years. Although the clock is running and chiming, it would benefit from service. Note after 1960, Herschede took short cuts in movement production choosing to chrome plate the arbors and pinions, which later peeled off. This is a fine Cincinnati movement that will clean up nicely. Original weights, pend, crank and door key. Our estimate is low to encourage spirited bidding; this clock is excellent value in the $2000 range. Height 78Ó $1,250-$2,250
