C.1835, Silas B. Terry, Plymouth, Conn., 8-day time/strike column and carved splat shelf clock.

This refinished clock is exceptional with the case veneered in highly figured mahogany and a beautifully carved splat. Even the sides of the case are finely veneered. The only veneer damage is a broken piece on the door that was reglued. The side returns on the top are missing. The minute hand maybe a replacement as it looks to be a little short. The dial is very nice with some fine age lines in the paint that could be restored or left alone. The clock has a super heavy plate cutout movement unique to S. B. Terry. The small card label that you find in these cases is gone, however most of the original dust paper is intact. A full set of pictures of the movement can be found on page 270 of "Eli Terry and the Connecticut Shelf Clock" by Ken Roberts. This is a very rare and exceptional example for lovers of S. B. Terry clocks. Height 38.25Ó $2,000-$2,500
