The case is made of sheet brass with colored glass inserts of various sizes. The dial is translucent glass to reveal time at nigHeight when it could be illuminated with a candle. The dial on this clock is cracked. The minute hand maybe a replacement. Someone has started to polish the case and not finished. These clocks were carried in torchligHeight parades and hung outside for nighttime picnics. Seems to run, but would probably benefit from service. See the sister to this clock on the cover of Horology Americana, by Dworetshy and Dickstein. Height 13Ó $925-$1,000
