Charles Allix, in his list of Carriage Clock names, page 434 says "No evidence has been found that Capt sold any pendules de voyage other than best-class French work". This clock is no exception, being the finest gorge case, finely engraved and gilded [some wear to exterior gilding]. The clock is fully numbered in Capt's sequence, No.10886 [also with Drocourt trademark], retains original lever platform with gold balance screws. Has bottom lever with choices: Striking, Silent or Full striking, and with repeat button above the 12 reporting full hours and quarters. The porcelain dials and beveled glass are all perfect; top dial signed "Henry Capt, Geneve", about as good as it gets. Height 6.75Ó $5,000-$8,000
