This mahogany veneered case has been refinished; the carved scroll type splat is extra nice, as are the center carved columns, however, the chimneys have been broken and repaired where they merge with the splat. The veneer needs some restoration on the base and on the cross pieces at the middle and the top. There are a couple of veneer chips on the upper door and the lower door needs a better veneer repair around the key hole. The case probably had a set of turned feet. Both tablets have been redone on old glass. A picture of a similar example can be found on page 99 of The Contributions of Joseph Ives to Connecticut Clock Technology by Ken Roberts. Fair label; mov't clean and running; a decent triple decker. Height 36Ó $600-$800
