Movement has ebauche of Japy Bros. and Co. noting Grand Medal of Honor at 1855 Exposition, and with serial No.267, would have been very early in Japy's offering of carriage clocks. Unique early platform is handsomely engraved. Porcelain dial is perfect and all hands are original. Note center seconds hand. All beveled glass is original and has minor scratches and one tiny chip on top piece. Clock is running, but could use cleaning. A nice example of a mid 19th century French carriage clock, both in workmanship and style. Height 6.75Ó $1,250-$1,750
