with presentation inscription. Porcelain dial and all beveled glass in perfect condition. Hour and minute hands original, but alarm hand is missing. Dial has remnants of a merchant's name, but not readable. Movement and case are numbered 620. Original cylinder platform is intact. The bottom of case has an engraved presentation inscription which helps to show that the various case styles were already well developed by 1970: "Eliza Ingersoll Boardman Dixwell / to / Henry and Selma / Sept. 9, 1871".
