This clock is similar to the New Haven "Gothic Gem" model, but having a smaller lower door glass and hexagonal applied decoration and reverse painted mask around dial. A label impressed on the wood panel behind the door notes a patent of Oct. 18, 1870 and says "Jerome and Co." was the maker (a trademark used by New Haven Clock Co., during the latter 19th century). This clock retains original dial, hands, alarm, printed dust paper in back of case, case finish (dark) and reverse painted tablets. Gilt around the two tablets is original, but with fly specs and dirt. Retains molded door knob and trim rosettes, gutta percha. A nice clock. Height 16.5Ó $200-$300
