O. Dumas, No. 1031, circa 1860. Fine and rare mahogany two-day marine chronometer with winding indicator. C. Three-body, mahogany, with external brass handles, glazed upper section, brass bowl in gimbaled suspension, ratchet key in its bracket in the back. D. Frosted and silvered with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and 49-hour up-and-down sector. Gilt "spade" hands. M. 76 mm., frosted gilt brass full plate with recess for the mainspring barrel, cylindrical pillars, secured by screws, 11 jewels, reversible fusee and chain, Earnshaw spring-detent escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with free-sprung helical balance spring with terminal curves, two cylindrical temperature adjustment weights, two mean time adjustment nuts. Signed on dial and the box. Dim. Height 18 cm., width and depth 16 cm.
