An eight day Bristol mahogany case with original finish. The hood has a scalloped door and a higher than usual scalloped cresting. The pillars in hood and lower case are matching with smooth spiral wooden turnings and expertly carved wooden capitols. These capitols being of wood instead of brass answer for the use of the wooden finials on the hood that match. A flame mahogany longcase having much well executed inlay to all parts. The movement is typical brass structure and strikes the hours on a cast bell. The dial shows castles in Wales and the white center is convex, which is very common to this location. The early date aperture is of same period. Height: 90 inches (229cm) Width: at base of hood 19 inches (48cm) Depth:9.5 inches (24cm)
