The clock is 8 day, time only, powered by one flat weight descending behind a sliding partition. Runs strong. The case is rosewood and was refinished many years ago. The beautiful graining in the wood was enhanced by the cleaning. To me a clock is worth more if you can see the beautiful wood than if it is covered with old black soot and crazing. I have never understood some collectors hang ups about a case being cleaned. Finials are correct and original, there are applied carvings top to bottom. Gold around the glass is slightly worn. Door lock, with key, is operating properly. The brass pendulum, bezel, beat scale, all original. New paper dial on the old pan, full label on the back. We believe this clock is correct and original except for the new dial. Ly-Gilbert No.337.
