There are very few of this size floating around. The walnut case is 33 1/2 inches, only a little bit bigger than the miniature size. There is some burl veneer on the front that really sets the clock off perfectly. An unusual case style appearing almost like a Serpentine case the way the trim around the front door is curving. The trim is in the shape of half columns with capitals and bases. Base is tapered, top looks very much original. Two side glasses, wall levelers, all intact. There are age cracks in the door that a good craftsman could pull together with a little effort. We sure don't get many old wood clocks that don't have at least one crack, caused from expansion and contracting in hot and cold climates.8 day movement is signed Lenzkirsch. It strikes the half hours and hours on a coil gong, and is running just fine. Two piece porcelain dial, with a faint hairline, porcelain RA insert in the pendulum, and porcelain beat scale, signed "F.O.Gasser, Magdeburg". Truly an unusual, attractive, rare clock.
