Case of seasoned hardwood, stained imitation rosewood and polished. Refinished in later years to shine like a piece of fine furniture. Proper glasses are in excellent condition, and too nice to be over 125 years old. Weight is original with the number "5" in the casting. Movement is 8 day, signed properly, "E.Howard & Co.Boston". Time only with recoil escapement. Pendulum is correct, minus the pendulum tie down. The door latches are correct. Dial was repainted on the original pan. Ly-American Clocks No.400.
