It also says, "Case Patented by George B. Owen, March 31, 1868". Case is made of mahogany veneer, stands 13 1/2 inches high, has gold around the door. The original tablet has lost half of the painted design. Some veneer, about 10%, is loose or missing on the base, certainly repairable. .One day movement with strike, held by mounting blocks. The only mark on the movement is "4 1/2". It has a really great old zinc dial. Ly-Gilbert No.1079.
