Movement is 8 day, striking on a coil gong. 2 piece porcelain dial has faint hairlines, particularly between the 1 and 2. A great pair of hands and brass piecrust bezel. The brass pendulum has etched designs all over, and a wood pendulum rod. There are 3 good glasses. Mahogany veneer case is 43 inches. There are 2 sets of holes around the unusual post mount, and the way the holes are positioned would lead you to think there may have been a 1 weight movement in the case originally. There are many similar clocks in Rick Ortenburger's book, "Vienna Regulators and Factory Clocks". The pie crust bezel, carvings, top, and base, like our case, are all pictured in the book, and explanations about the period this clock was probably made. If you collect Vienna's this book is a must for your library.
