oversize box regulator for use in large public buildings. The foto is deceiving, as this clock is over 5 feet tall. There is one dry split at the throat piece, below the dial, but otherwise this clock is in excellent original condition, with great original dial with seconds hand, beveled glass in door with small cut pattern in front of the pendulum. The original black lacquer finish is still shiny and attractive. The open spring movement is a copy of the American style, yet the bim-bam strike on 4 rods is done in the German style (as is the case design) A serviceman brought this back from Japan in the 1950s, and it has lived in California since then. Height 62 inches
