This carved column and cornice mahogany veneered case has been stripped and now has an old shellac finish. The veneer is very nice condition; with just a couple of minor veneer chips on the side and dry age cracks in the veneer on the doors. The clock has an extremely nice original portrait glass. The upper glass is also original, but is cracked. The painted dial is quite nice. The E. W. Adams label is an overpaste on a Marshall and Adams label. Elmer W. Adams bought out Marshall in 1836 and these must have been the remaining clocks from the old firm. Overall very good condition. Note movement is the same as clock we sold in Nov 2002, lot 337 (sold for 860+ dollars) Height 33.75 inches
