It has also the original cut steel hands. Overall dimensions are 30" high, 14" wide. The case is completely original including the finish, gold leaf and paint on 4 door columns; gold leaf cross bar between the glasses; and detailed brass medallions at each door corner. It even has the original pin lock for the door. Original upper glass is broken, but it is framed and will be shipped with the clock. The replacement upper glass is an exact reproduction of that framed glass. The mirror is original. No label, but it has multiple repair notices and notes or testimonials from earlier owners, including dates to the early 1800Õs. The case interior and backboard are well oxidized and without repairs. The case contains an excellent 8 day, time only movement in good running order, with original bob and rod, and original weight. Joseph Chadwick alone, or with his brother in law, Benjamin Morrill, developed a mirror clock which is now known as the NewHampshire mirror clock. ChadwickÕs movement was used by his brother in lawfor a while who later changed (or improved) it to the "wheelbarrow" movement. Their shops were in Boscawen, a few miles north of Concord. Many other shops made mirror clocks in New Hampshire and they all have several common characteristics.
