The Darche Electric Alarm Clock, taken from the full label, inside, behind the mirror. Patented July 5, 1892, this model is rare and seldom seen for sale. The few that were made are in collectorÕs hands today. Oak case is 17" high, 8" wide and divided into two sections inside. The top section houses the clock and alarm, the bottom houses the batteries. A complete label and instructions for operation are on the back of the door. The clock doesnÕt want to tick for me and I donÕt tinker with movements. Great beveled mirror, signed dial, battery holders in the base section. Identical to No. 254 in our Jan.2003 catalog that sold for $855 plus 10 percent, but it was running. It didnÕt have the battery holders that this clock has. The cases are heavy oak, deeply grooved and etched on 3 sides. The opening at the top is to let the alarm sound escape.
