Solid mahogany case has string inlay around the outer edge. Overall the case is excellent and has no glaring blemishes. You might call the presentation plaque a blemish as it reads, "To The Boss, From The Gang". There are brass covers over the dials and a brass finial. The clock and all gauges appear to be in working order. Clock movement is an 8 day, 11 jeweled lever movement without strike. All 4 dials are silver and clean. This is the 1/2 size, measuring 31.5" long. The full size model was only 38"high. The "Carver" is typical of all Chelsea superior quality clocks. Ly-American, Volume 2, page 63.
