Silas B. Terry early wall regulator, ca 1850Õs.
Made during the period when Seth Thomas was merging the Terry inventory into its own. The case is S. B. Terry with the slanted base, seat board mounting, partition over the weight, but using the movement that became commonly used in the early Seth Thomas No. 1 and No. 2 Regulators that had the seconds bit above the hand arbor. Rosewood case is 34" long, some minor chips on the wood bezel and base. Old zinc dial still retains a most of the paint, some flaking, but on a clockthis old and collectable it isnÕt time for a repaint. Bottom glass has hadsome heavy restoration to hold the gold in place. Rebacked completely andnew gold paint put around the glass frame. Label completely gone on the slidingpartition and the partition was painted black during the restoration. Correctold iron weight may be original, but has some rust. Should be sanded andpainted.
