The front of the case is inlayed with brass, tortoise shell, mother of pearl, ivory, and other colorful inlays. Most of the brass inlay remains in place, a few pieces loose. Pieces that are missing include some black veneerand small pieces of colored inlays. The black wood case is slightly over14 inches high. 8 day, round movement signed by "L.Marti", serial number 3896.The pendulum has the same serial number, therefore original to the clock.Outside count wheel, strikes a brass bell on half hours. The 3.75" porcelaindial has hairlines and damage in the 5-6-7 area. Repairs have been made andarenÕt bad. Beveled glass, French sash, original French hands. Clock is strongrunning but will surely need cleaning and possibly bushings before you arefinished. If you can do the inlay work, or just dab some black paint on thebare spots, you will have a fine example of a Boulle clock at less moneythan the law should allow.
