Very poplar European clock-picture in the late 1800Õs. The box type case has side doors like a cuckoo. This pressedmetal design shows a large bird with an animal in its talons, and lion thinkingabout taking it away from the bird. Flowers and leaves all around. Coloris bright and original, no paint loss. Metal is pressed in the same manneras the Morbier pendulums. Porcelain dial with superb gold French hands.A small chip and hairline at 1 oÕclock. Old glass still retains some of originalputty. A bunch of extra holes around the movement but it is quite evidentthe movement retaining strips have been moved around to grab a better hold.Movement is the 3 day type with main springs in boxes. The anchor is straptype like in a cuckoo movement. It has a French type pendulum, Geneva stops, and is running. It strikes on a brass bell. If distortion and defectsindicate a glass is old, then this glass must be very old.
