The glass is a repaint of a Kellog original, and the finials are replacements. The 30 hour wood movement has been running today. Good old dial is only slightly faded, good gold on the corners, very attractive. Top glass has the original putty, old hands, bob, and iron weights. Mahogany veneer case is 34-1/2 inches high, veneer is near perfect, only some age cracks, no repairs evident even to the old gold columns. Workable door lock with ivory escutcheon, new key. I canÕtfind anything definitive on this case by Whiting, but I would guess it isca 1835-1845.
