This is another fine original clock. I will call it rare because I hardly ever see a mirrorside made of oak. The near perfect glass was used by Gilbert in their finest mantle clock, the Amphion, and here we see it in the slightly lesser Occidental. Additionallyit has the brass, beat regulating pendulum, Cathedral gong, and alarm, originalcase ornaments including finials, and a complete label on the back. The movementas usual is 8 day, strikes half hours, and is running. I wouldnÕt bet thefarm, but I think the cupids are original. If not, then this clock isnÕt100 percent original. Ly-Gilbert No. 1040.
