12 inch painted iron dial, original hands and pendulum. Glass has been replaced. The 23 inch case is either English walnut or mahogany; either way there is some figure and in some places a burl look to the grain. The wood bezel has an unusual roll to it and is made with 4 pieces of wood bonded together. The bezel is held to the case with pegs. There are latched access doors on each side of the top. On each side are elaborately carved "ears". There are a few veneer chips on the bottom. Not anything recent and I sure wouldnÕt worry about repairing them. There is a large, latched, pendulum access door at the bottom. The movement is 8 day, running, and striking the hours on a coil gong. A nice feature to the clock is that it has 2 labels, one on the bottom door and one on inside backboard, both advertising, "Ganter Bros., LTD, Dublin". Has been running here for 3 months, keeps good time andstrike works well.
