This is considered a transition case as it has full pillars and similar inside width as a pillar and scroll case. 30 hour wood movement, short drop, strikes an iron bell. Note the rare eagle hands and the nice replaced lower glass. A really nice old wood dial with flowers painted in the middle and gold designs on the corners. Original gold leaf on the splat and pineapples, columns, andfeet. All are dirty and some wear but still nice. Mahogany veneer case, 29-1/2inches high, veneer good, one toe chipped. Door lock with ivory escutcheon and key. Reference: "Eli Terry and the Connecticut Shelf Clock, Second Edition Revised, Kenneth D. Roberts, Snowden Taylor, pages 224-234. Pictured are similarcases and labels.
