Made by theResch-Gebrueder brothers near Salzburg, Austria in 1871. They were the firstfamily in Austria to make pendulum clocks, dating back to 1862, and for manyyears were the leading clock manufacturers in Austria. Their trademark onthe movement is, "Remember" and the serial number No. 57268 is inscribed onthe movement, pendulum, and the back plate. This is an 8 day, 2 weight, movement, striking a round gong on the back of the movement, and it is running verystrong. All the attachments, porcelain beat scale, 2 brass weights, brasspendulum bob, 2 piece porcelain dial, and hands, are all but perfect. Thecase is 45 inches high, heavily carved by the world renowned Black Forestcarvers. There is a deer head on top, (minus antlers which can be bought)a large rabbit on the left, a knife and gun on the right, a lot of vines, leaves, nuts, etc. all over the case. The date it was carved, 1871, is carvedinto the base.
