Eli Terry, Plymouth, Conn. Rare Inside-Outside Escapement, Pillar and Scroll, ca 1817.
This is a group 3 prestandard pillar and scroll. All original mahogany veneer case and finish with no major repairs; case withmaple trim, which is correct for this clock. Excellent original dial withoriginal pewter hands. The 30 hour wood movement is in excellent condition, mounted to the reverse side of the dial; original tin can weights; original hollow brass finials. Both glasses are original, the lower with about 25 percent flaking of original reverse painting. The Terry label is outstanding. The clock is 28" to the scroll tips; 30" to center finial tip.
